Introducing 2LP Distribution
As of 2025, 2LP Inc. is independently distributing its books through several channels:
- Print books: IngramSpark, which is part of Ingram Content Group, the largest book distributor globally. IngramSpark employs print-on-demand technology and is a key player in the publishing sector, offering distribution to a wide array of bookstores, libraries, and online retailers.
Books are offered at the standard discount of 55% and are returnable (which we have to pay for), but the stock will be destroyed. It is important to note that distribution costs and fees differ among various distributors and that a book sale may be subject to fees from several distributors.
- eBooks: Draft2Digital, a publishing platform that enables authors and publishers to format, publish, distribute, and promote their works. This platform is distributed to major retailers and libraries.
- Audiobooks: In 2026, 2LP Inc. will be producing audiobooks on select titles to be distributed through digital platforms such as Audible, Apple Books, and Google Play Books.
- 2Leaf Press website: Orders will be fulfilled by Bookshop.org, an online bookstore that allows authors and publishers to register as affiliates and fulfill orders directly from IngramSpark.
- Library distribution: There are more than 120,000 libraries in the United States, and academic and special libraries play a significant role in the library sector. 2LP Inc. seeks to collaborate with organizations like EBSCO GOBI Library Solutions, a prominent supplier of print books and eBooks to academic libraries with a global reach. Additional distributors will be considered.
2LP Inc. was motivated to handle book distribution independently rather than through a book distributor so that 2Leaf Press can maintain control over its creative direction, and reach a wider and more diverse audience that conventional publishers might overlook. Independent distribution also establishes a direct connection with readers and offers greater adaptability and responsiveness to market changes, free from the influence of market-driven choices imposed by major publishers. This approach supports a more resilient and inclusive literary environment. Additionally, 2Leaf Press will benefit from substantially higher royalty rates than those typically offered by traditional publishers, who take a larger share of the profits.
